I'm having this problem updating compiz entirely to 0.9.2.1 from 0.8.6. I started a forum thread over a month ago in the official compiz forums, but no one has replied:

So I thought I'd try asking my question here in the Ubuntu forums. Here is a copy and paste of my thread in the compiz forums:
Yesterday I followed SmSpillaz's mini guide here ( http://smspillaz.wordpress.com/2010/11/11/ppa/ ) for installing 0.9.2.1:
$ sudo apt-add-repository ppa:ubuntu-desktop/ppa
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
compiz-config-settings-manager doesn't work because it wasn't updated along with the other components of compiz. See attached for a screenshot of synaptic which shows that compiz-config-settings-manager is still stuck at version 0.8.6. When I mark that program for uninstallation it says I need to uninstall compiz-gnome 0.9.2.1. How do I update compiz-config-settings-manager to version 0.9.2.1?
I'm running 64bit Ubuntu 10.10.
