So I tried to boot my Windows this morning from grub and it proceeded to go to a black screen. It booted fine before so I assumed that the windows was messed up. So I proceeded to backup data and prepare for an reinstall. I booted to the Windows XP disc to start the install and I got right past where it says "press F6 to install SCUSI or RAID drivers" and then it goes to a solid black screen. I have waited for over an hour with no loading so I certain that its stuck. the disc boots on my laptop so I know the disc works. And I replaced the Optical drive with a new one and still no go.
Any ideas what else may be causing this problem? I read that it may be that there is too many partions on the drive for the install to read the hardware correctly. They mentioned somthing about hiding the Ubuntu partions from the windows install but I'm unsure of how to do that.
