I'm having a hard time understanding what you're saying, but you could always try going to System->Administration->Additional Drivers and seeing if there is one for your card.

I'm sorry, but you are not making sense. Perhaps the best solution is not to lower your resolution?

The screen resolution defines the aspect ratio as well. Before the advent of wide screens, the resolutions defaulted to 5:4. Now, with wide screens and super wide screens, there are three different "shapes".

So, when you switch to a different resolution, the "shape" of the screen will change to match that resolution.

1024x760 will yield a different "shape" than 1440x800.
