updates will not install

i have ubuntu 10.04 lts lucid, on an 2010 hp g42 notebook with the 64 bit. i keep getting updates, but when i go to install them it keeps giving me an error saying that the updates are corrupted or something. does anyone know whats going on?

Post a screen shot of the exact error and try running these commands in the terminal.
sudo apt-get update If all sources connect with out error. run:

sudo apt-get upgrade Then try installing updates again.
