I wanted to make you aware of the Ubuntu Global Jam date.

A global bug jam is an loosely organized international event that focuses on contributing to the success of Ubuntu and the Ubuntu community. As a team we can work on testing, upgrading, documentation, or answering support questions. This participation can be done solo or in a group. It can be held in a private location or in a public setting.

As a member of the Ubuntu Beginners Team I have a broad familiarity with the processes involved in these areas. If you or a group would like to participate in the Ubuntu Global Jam please contact me and I can assist with the details.

Will there be a meeting in Manhattan? I live in Connecticut, but very close to NYC.

We are still trying to get the location and date set in NYC. I hope to be able to post a date / place in the next week.

The New York Team has two in-person locations for the global jam set. Please use the links below to register for the events. Registration is optional, but it will help us to know how many people are coming. Thanks.

Rochester (http://loco.ubuntu.com/events/team/754/detail/)

Syracuse (http://loco.ubuntu.com/events/team/801/detail/)

We are still working on securing a Manhattan location, but have yet to find a location to meet our needs.

If you can not make it to an in-person location please join us on IRC.

Why is a global jam being held so close to the release of 11.04? Why not have a release party/global jam combo?

The global jam is normally held close to the release as a way of putting the power of community behind squashing bugs prior to release.
