I've been trying to run Ubuntu 10.10 from Mandriva's 2010 boot loader. Everything seems to go fine until I get to the Ubuntu's desktop, it freezes, I can even see the cursor, but I can't move it. I installed Ubuntu again so that it would overwrite Mandriva's boot loader, after doing this, I can boot to Ubuntu and go to the desktop and everything works just fine. Every time I try to run Ubuntu from Mandriva's boot loader, Ubuntu freezes. From what I know, Ubuntu 10.10 uses Grub 2 and Mandriva 2010 uses Grub Legacy. Could this be the problem? if so, then why am I able to get to the Ubuntu's desktop? How can I fix this problem, please?

Most probably there is some kind of fix for this, but why donīt you use grubloader witch works for both distros?Do you have any specific reason why do yo uwant to use legacy grub?
