I recently build a htpc, installed ubuntu 10.10 64bit to run xbmc, I installed the drivers that ubuntus own driver application, when I restarted I had black boarders around my screen, I thought to save to troubles I'll just get the drivers from atis site and use them, now when I restate I get an error message and x won't start, it's a big error message and I'm on my iPhone so I can't do the whole thing, here are the bits witch I think are important...........
(EE) fglrx(0): incompatible kernel module detected - HW accelerated OpenGL will not work
Fglrx: QS connection has not been initialized
(EE) fglrx(0): failed to map FB memory
Fatal server error:
Addscreen/screeninit failed for driver 0
Xinit: no such file or directory (errno 2): unable to connect to X server
Xinit: no such process (errno 3): Server error
