View Full Version : [SOLVED] Downloading from several mirrors simultaneously

February 12th, 2011, 08:08 PM
I'm tring to download an iso image that's over 3GB. The file is hosted at several ftp mirrors. Is there a way to download the file from several of these mirrors simultaneously so that I can reduce the D/L time? Presently, it's will take close to 24hrs to D/L from just one mirror. I have a 25Mbps connection so my bandwidth is not an issue.

To get downloads from multiple sources, use bittorrent. Transmission is the default bittorrent client in the current Ubuntu.

What iso?

Yeah well, that's what it was for some reason or the other. Like I said, first time using torrents, so I did not know what to expect.

Guess I'll be looking at torrents a little closer from now on.
