Ubuntu 10.10 with Nvidia BETA driver?? O,o

Hi, does Ubuntu 10.10 recommend and install a Nvidia BETA driver? Since when does that happen in stable releases? O,o I just noticed it, while giving 10.10 another shot/chance.
