XP Blue Screen after Dual-Boot

Hi All...
I have had Xp on my pc for a number of years, and have just installed Ubuntu as a dual boot os.
I had a bit of trouble installing GRUB, but that's been resolved.
My real problem is that now, after reinstalling GRUB, windows crashes at shutdown with a blue screen, as follows.

0xc0000021 {Fatal system error}
Windows logon process system process has unexpectedly terminated with a status of 0x0000000
The System has been shut down
Can anyone help with the subject?

Thanks for the suggestion, but i've already tried that.
There's all sorts of different things on there, none have had any effect.
