Hello, I think this is a common problem to all users of Linux. Every time I update my system, it causes a boot error. I currently can't boot into my external hard drive of Ubuntu 10.4 after updating my kernel, or kernel image: I don't know what to call it. All I get when booting from my external hd installation is error: no such device
grub rescue >
I think this problem goes beyond update-grub. What are some things I should try? Are all Linux versions like this when you update?
Thanks,
Claude
