ok, so basically i have the latest ubuntu desktop edition installed onto my laptop. i want to reinstall windows7 from a usb and its got an .exe file in it to install windows7. heres the problem, when i try to make it executable, right click, properties, and then click, make executable it just shows a tick in the box for a split second then dissapears! so its not letting me make it executable, any help?

You can't install Windows from inside Ubuntu. You'll have to make the USB stick bootable and boot into it.

how do you make a usb bootable with ubuntu? ive made it top of the list in my BIOS and it dosent show up in the grub. I think i need to make it fat32, any ideas? if i do have to make it a fat32 will it delete the files on there? and how do i do it? cheers
