hi, I am using ubuntu 10.10, and have an ati video card. installed all ati drivers I could find through synaptic package manager. when I go to the display, seems to work correctly when it tells me that I need to use vender display program. I tell it to go ahead, and the vender display program tells me it can not run because either I am not using a ati card, or the drivers are damaged. I did some research on the internet, and found a ati driver program ati-driver-installer-10-9-x86.x86_64.run, which was suggested I download and install. it says I need glibc 2.2 or 2.3 to run, I did research and it seems that 10.10 has 2.6, anyhow when I run the program, I get the following error
Error: ./default_policy.sh does not support version
default:v2:i686:lib::none:2.6.35-25-generic:; make sure that the version is being
correctly set by --iscurrentdistro

Removing temporary directory: fglrx-install.9H83PY

does anyone know how to get the ati video driver working in ubuntu 10.10, or how I can get this program to run correctly? I am stuck and at a loss.
