Finally resolved PW issue and got to install. On boot screen choose ubuntu then taken to black screen with caption continuing to install and blinking cursor.
My question is how long will this go on? Another words I never leave this screen as ubuntu seemingly never finishes installing.
I uninstalled and await some advice. This is win 7, plenty RAM and HD.
