View Full Version : [ubuntu_studio] installing kernel 2.6.37?

im new to ubuntu studio and as i ve just installed it i thought about going for the new latest kernel 2.6.37.
any problems with that or will i be fine?

That's the kernal for Ubuntu 10.10. If you're running 10.10 Update manager will keep you on the latest kernal for that release.

If you're running an earlier release you should upgrade to 10.10 first. Personally I'd recommend staying with 10.04 LTS unless you've got a good reason for upgrading.

yep, im using ubuntu studio 10.10

it came with kernel 2.32 and due to the update manager i got kernel 2.35.

since its possible to install kernel 2.37 on ubuntu 10.10 will it be the same with ubuntu studio 10.10?

Probably, but...

Just wait for it to come through on the updates for your distro.
