Hey mates..
Can I bother you all for a little help?
I am trying to install Ubuntu (10.10) on an "Everex" machine that currently has *cough* windows vista on it.
To be honest..
Ive only heard of an "everex" machine once or twice in passing..
But have never seen, or used one.
So I know next to nothing about them.
A friend just brought his laptop, and desktop tower over..
I cleaned and removed all problems from the laptop... (windows 7)
and installed Ubuntu on a separate partition, all went great,
as usual.
Now Im sitting here with the "Everex tower"..
And I cannot get it to read the disc..
I also get no changes when I change the boot order, to boot from CD ROM.
It just continues to start up normally, into vista.
Is there something "special" I need to do with this machine to get it to ~recognize the disc/~boot from the disc/~install ubuntu?
Vista is bad enough as it is..
But it is really bad here on this machine.
The plan is to completely remove vista, and turn it into a straight Ubuntu machine..
I am just having no luck with it.
Not sure what else to do, or try.
If any other info is needed, I will do my best to provide..
Im just not sure what that would be.
I havent run into this problem yet..
after doing *at least* 30+ Ubuntu installs.
ANyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
