Hello.

I am wondering if there's any means for a Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx user like me to be able to upgrade to the latest KDE SC 4.6.0? I installed KDE via the package kubuntu-desktop.

So far I haven't found any clues that'll let me do so. Of course, a "no" would be disappointing, but I'd at least would like to know whether it is possible or not, and why.

Hi,
As far as I know, upgrading to KDE 4.6 isn't possible for Lucid users. I think it is possible for Lucid users to upgrade to KDE 4.5.3 though. If you are interested in trying that, see this post:

Hope this helps.

Aw, sucks to not be able to do that then. I am already using KDE 4.5.3 though.

If you want to keep your present setup, you may perform a distribution upgrade to Kubuntu Maveric. Otherwise you can still compile KDE 4.6 to run on Lucid (But I doubt it will have the same performance of KDE running on Maveric).
