I have an old Dell Precision 220. It has a 20GB hard drive and 128MB memory with a CD Drive. I have downloaded the ISO image and burned it to a CD. On the main window I can click 'Try It' and besides some gnome applets not loading it runs.. When I click on 'Install' it runs for awhile then errors out. I have never gotten the next screens.. error has something about User ID ???

With that amount of RAM, you should try the alternate CD. http://www.ubuntu.com/desktop/get-ubuntu/alternative-download
