View Full Version : getlibs not downloadable anymore

I've just installed a new 10.10 system, 64-bits, and have problems installing a software.

The software is 32-bit and I remember having to use getlibs when installing it on older versions.

Thought I'd give this a shot again but found out that the download link for getlibs does not work anymore.

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=474790

This software is closed source proprietary software (AnimeStudioPro 6) so I have limited possibilities here.

Do anyone know where I can find getlibs or have it laying around?

That was the thread I was linking to in my post with the non-working download link.
So no, it did not help me.
Anyone else?

Thank's to the Wayback Machine (http://www.archive.org/web/web.php) I found an archived version of the file!
It can be found here (http://web.archive.org/web/20080508210022/www.boundlesssupremacy.com/Cappy/getlibs/) if anyone else would need it.

Amazing thing, the Internet archive, always loved them.

You can get the getlibs executable but not the .deb files there. If you want the .deb it can be downloaded from:

http://www.hotshare.net/en/file/61002-6358541df0.html

or

http://usablesoftware.wordpress.com/2011/02/01/download-link-for-getlibs/

Note: the .deb just puts the executable in /usr/bin

Enjoy!

...
Thank you, but I downloaded the deb from that wayback machine page. Won't that work?

Nope. THAT link is DEAD now...

http://usablesoftware.wordpress.com/2011/02/01/download-link-for-getlibs/

was where *I* had to go for it. I

'm just glad I found it somewhere. It took some doing to find it!

Thanks for the tip!

For anyone still looking for this file, I am attaching it here.

Thanks to [1]! I downloaded the pdf version, renamed to .deb and gzipped it so that this forum would allow me to attach this file.

You just extract it, and install it:

gunzip getlibs-all.deb.gz
sudo dpkg -i getlibs-all.deb

It looks like getlibs is just a shell script. I've attached from the wayback machine:
