View Full Version : [ubuntu] Hello, New Ubuntu user and have a macbuntu globamenu question!

i installed ubuntu 1010 (desktop) on my sony vaio laptop with 6gb ram, intel core i3 processor, and i've installed everything correct until i got to the global menu part?
i have these videos as guides

when the "command" in the terminal is suppose to convert the file to "DEB" in my home folder, it never works. idk what i'm doing wrong. if someone can help me i would appreciate it.
if u know how to fix my issue, let me know thanks

Well i have the thing on top that will say "firefox" or "desktop" now but all the file, documents and other menus aren't there still :(
and how do i take off that bar at the beginning of the boot screen when it ask me for my password

I would think twice about adding your e-mail address unless you want to be spammed (not by the people here though).
It might be an idea to remove it.

heres the screen shot and in the beginning it's a different bar which i am unable to take a screenshot of but it's at the log on screen. it's a small bar at the bottom

i would also like to know how to remove the "ubuntu" on the log on screen thing. if u can see in the pic near my name.
and idk if i install the wrong version of macbuntu? maybe i can erase it and re-install it again if anyones got a better guide?
