Hi everyone. In a bit of a pickle right now. Just installed Kubuntu 10.10 and jumped right into customizing the look. I downloaded quite a few new themes for both the Window Decoration and the "Desktop Theme". But no matter what I do when I go to apply a desktop theme it will not actually apply, it remains stuck on the same one until I restart the computer entirely. Please help!

so restarting is the only way to change your themes?
the themes change instantly for me so this is a problem!
have you updated/upgrade kde since then ?

just assuming it be some bug from old versions of kde.

After I discovered this problem, I ran all the updates that were available (207) and rebooted when they were done installing. Didn't seem to solve the problem. This is quite strange.

Oh wait my About KDE is reading 4.5.1. I would have thought it been the latest version after updating. Let me see if I can get it to 4.6

yeah, it's the only thing i can think of besides reseting your desktop which will remove all previous custom settings.
upgrading is a better option.
