View Full Version : Ridiculous Ubuntu boot time on Toshiba NB205

I recently installed Ubuntu 10.10 Netbook Edition on my Toshiba NB205 Netbook and it did so beautifully. Everything was working fine, I didn't have any wifi, bluetooth, or sound problems that other users have experienced, with the exception of some slowness, but nothing like the constant freezing of my Windows XP install, so overall I was very pleased.
But here's the kicker: I reboot the computer and select the Ubuntu install at the GRUB menu and the computer continues to the boot screen like normal, but as soon as it gets there, it goes no further. I decided to just let it be for a while and see if it gets past the problem. I come back two hours later and the computer is still at the load screen. Does anybody know what the problem is?

Thanks for any help,
-Bob the Canuck

Hi, welcome to the fora.

It sounds like you need to add boot options:
