I am relatively new to Ubuntu and decided to load this on a laptop that will be used by a charity in Haiti.

I have just installed edubunto 10.10 on a Dell Inspiron 2650.

I get a strange error - the keyboard and touchpad seem to work sometimes.

If I plug a external USB keyboard and mouse in - they work fine however the keyboard and touchpad on the laptop are dead.

The keyboard and touchpad work on XP so cannot be a hardware error..

Things I have tried:-

1. CTL + ALT + F3
2. Installed touchfreeze
3. Updated the following in etc/default/grub GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash i8042.reset i8042.nomux i8042.nopnp" Then did a update grub

However still have the same problem.

Any ideas?
