Hi all,
I had a bad surprise today as I tried to start my Kubuntu: plasma-desktop segfaults when I try to start a graphical session (and I get into a black screen with a mouse that I can move, and I do get a notification for new updates appearing at the top of the screen, but that's all)... I can still login to console, but startx won't solve the issue.
That's quite a serious issue and I can't find a workaround for now. Any ideas?
Help would be much appreciated.
Antony

you can reset your desktop by deleting the .kde folder, this will reset the desktop to default out of the box, you will lose all previous custom settings.

are you able to navigate at all?

if not, press alt+f2 then type dolphin and hit enter, when dolphin opens, press keys alt+. browse for .kde folder, delete it and restart.
