View Full Version : [ubuntu] Screen messes up when installing

hello

i have an old CRT as an extra monitor and when i try too install Ubuntu or run it fom CD my screens just blacks out and gives me the message.

H Freq - 98.9KHZ (blinking red)
V Freq - 58HZ

i guess it get some kind of overload but i cant figure out why it gets it during installation it should seem pretty basic it isnt realy 3D rendering it has too do.

its also an older Ubuntu v9.10

What hardware are you running, ie RAM, CPU, GPU?

i downloaded v10.10 adn it seems too work like a charm (so far).
but thnx for the replyes. my conversion too linux is on its way hehe.

Awesome, If.when you have any other issues, please give us some hardware specs and we'll help as much as possible.:p

well another problem showed it self..
i get too the part where i get too choose computername password ect.. and the installation says "ready when you are".. but the Foward button will not aktivate.. so my istallation just stops dead there.

In the Your Name line, you can have capital letters.

In the Computer Name line, you can have caps but no symbols at the beginning or end ot the name.

In the Pick a username line, you can not have caps.

The passwords have to match.

Once those rules are met, the forward button should work.
