View Full Version : Post in jail

I apologize whole heartedly for any mistakes I may have made in posting the thread http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=10367775#post10367775 which has been moved to jail.

I have not (to my knowledge) received any explanation. This, again, would probably be my fault as I am unaware of any messages that have been sent to me via Email or Personal forum messages. I haven't seen any.

I believe I have read the guidance notes for the forum and am unaware of any violation. If someone could explain my mistake I would be grateful and if someone could remove, or render un-viewable, the thread I would be even more so, if not still a little crestfallen.

Thank you in anticipation

The post appears to be a duplicate of this thread (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1669117) which would be why it has been placed in the jail.

So you haven't done anything wrong, no need to worry :)

Is the removal an automated process or does it stay there as a reminder for ever more?

One likes personal distinctions but having the only post in jail on a forum like this is not an honour I particularly welcome.

Yours in hope.

Currently their is no automatic removal. We are considering whether this should be implemented, however, given the recent issues we have been experiencing.

I should note, the jail isn't just used for offensive & rule breaking posts and threads. Most staff use it to move duplicate threads/posts to as well.

Thanks for that.

Double posts are a problem, especially when your machine is crashing on a regular basis! I'll leave the issue alone.

Thanks once again.
