Add a screen with STARTECH USB VGA DISPLAY ADAPTER

Before being an Ubuntu user I bought a startech USB display adapter which alowed me to use a second screen. It was working on Windows XP.
Now I don't know what to do because ubuntu seems not recognising the peripherical.
I am sure someone knows the way to get it. Thanks by advance for your help.
