Urgent help needed. UBUNTU not installing

Guys

I just decided to completely switch from windows 7 to Ubuntu 10.4. I wiped windows 7 and attempt to install 10.4. it installed half way and gave me an error "cd drive disk error". So I then downloaded 10.10 and burned iso image on a brand new cd disk. Now I am trying to install 10.10 (latest version), and its stuck on Ubuntu Splash screen for last half an hour. It does not seem to be doing anything. What shud I to complete the install ? Please help

I have dell inspiron 1525 laptop

Please disregard this thread as issue is resolved

I burned 10.4 on a new disk and installed it again. It went through just fine this time
