I use my own cups filter to print on a Kodak ESP printer.
In 10.04 the printer state messages from the filter were displayed in the printer properties window of system-config-printer. This is very useful for debugging. I could display every step of the printing process by printing "INFO: ....." to stderr in my filter.

In 10.10 the printer state messages seem to be very general ones from cups, My filters messages are no longer displayed.

Is this a general thing that is different in 10.10? Or is it just my filter?

Any ideas how I can watch these messages while the job is printing?
