Hey i was looking at installing Ubuntu on my sister's Toshiba Netbook, because iv'e heard good things about it and also because the terrible windows 7 starter edition that it came with is pretty much dead. So windows will not boot and the repair function failed, same with the bootable repair usb thing. So i made a Ubuntu flash installer and when i put in it got to the preparing to install screen and i pressed next the computer just didn't do anything the cpu light wasn't on and it obviously wasn't trying to read anything kinda like it wasn't even trying to install it. Comp's not frozen it just refuses to install. So yeah no idea as to what i am doing wrong

Hi, welcome to the fora.

How did you make the USB installer? Using Unetbootin is the safest choice.

Hi and welcome to the forums tyhladras :-)

How many primary partitions are on the computer? If there are already 4 you will not be able to install.

Also, post the specifications for the computer; it may be a graphics or RAM issue too.
