I've installed Lubuntu on a Packard Bell EasyNote W3344 D. lsusb displays the usb pen, however it's not automounted. All three options under pcmanfm --> Preferences -- Volume Managment is ticked. I've tried two different usb pens, both formatted fat32 and confirmed working on ordinary Ubuntu.

I should add that I previously installed Mint Fluxbox, but eventually reinstalled (choosing Lubuntu) because I wasn't able to enable auto mount of usb pen. Both /mnt and /media remains empty after insertion of the usb pen. Auto mount of optical drive is working properly.

What do I do?

Yours,

Lars

Thanks, but this solution appears not to be working on Lubuntu. I'm installing regular Ubuntu now. Hopefully, I'll be able to install a lighter windows manager and maintain auto mount of usb.

Well I am sure it works in Ubuntu 9.x but not sure of 10.x as it has few changes which I haven't been through
