Question:

A: How would one install Ubuntu from a 3.5 inch floppy?

B: Can Ubuntu be installed from XP pro without a restart?
(While in XP mode?)

C: Any other ideas?

Relevant points:

A: When attempting to install 10.04.1, the error messages
indicate a malfunctioning CD drive - No CD capability.
(cleaning CD didn't help, can't afford another right now)

B: BIOS does not recognize the USB ports - No pre-windows
boot from memory stick.

C: The computer has a temporary copy of XP Pro installed, and
is networked with other XP operated computers. File transfer
into the XP-shared documents folder is possible.

D: This set of attempts to install Ubuntu is my first
non-Windows dealings since the Commodore 64 era.

E: The purpose of the computer is to write, record, mix, and
produce sound effects (altering voice to produce the sound
of various characters) for audio stories, and then
distribute the stories via internet.

F: We currently use, and intend to continue using, Audacity
(Will eventually explore UbuntuStudio, once I have an idea
what I am doing), Open Office and FireFox.
