I'm trying to install Ubuntu 10.10 with my flash drive.

I want to do the Full Installation, which requires a partition of my hard drive. However, when it reboots, and i get to the installer, I get to check if I want to download updates while installing and/or download this third party software.

Whether or not I click or don't click any of those, once I hit forward, the button greys out and I get the spinning cursor....But nothing happens. It just sits there. The only thing I can do is quit the install.

I seem to be able to install it inside windows, but it doesn't seem to have access to files that Windows (XP Home) does, Such as pictures, etc.

So I guess I have two questions:

1) why is my full installation not going
and
2) will installing inside windows give it the ability to access files such as picture, assuming i give it enough gb space to have it's own programs? If it does, I'll just use that method instead.

thanks for help, And I hope I wasn't too confusing.
