Installation desktop version on laptop

I installed U10.10 desktop version on my asus laptop and having problem with sis graphic card. Resolution is 840*600.
Is the problem verson of installation or not. I don't want to install it again if it is not necessary

I bet the problem is the wonderful sis card, besides, there is no laptop version of Ubuntu. The desktop edition is intended for both desktops and laptops.

I formated my HD for U10.10 and erase all data, accidentally...
