Hi,
I installed Ubunbtu 10.10 Unity yesterday on an Asus EeePC 904 netbook. The system worked, but performance was awful. I then read that Unity isn't suited to less-powerful notebooks, so followed the advice in
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuNetbookEdition/UninstallUnity and tried to move to the EFL version, installing:
netbook-launcher-efl
ubuntu-netbook-efl-default-settings
Now when I boot-up, I get a frozen screen asking me to choose languages. The screen is completely frozen though - no mouse movements register, and tabs, click, etc don't do anything.
I can do CRTL-Alt-F2 to log in to the terminal, and from there reboot or shutdown, but I don't know how to get a normal login.
Just now I tried a clean install again from the USB stick, but get exactly the same bevahaviour.
What can I do?
