Ha, it went to £5K and then he cancelled the auction. Probably didn't want to see ebay's fees for that. :)

Yep. Actually, I know the guy from a mailing list so i can spill the beans.
He was unaware of Ebay's FVFs, thinking there was only the listing fee so he put it up as a joke. He then said that he wouldn't hold anyone to the sale if they won, and would be content just to exchange feedback with the winner.
Then one of us mentined the FVF, and he realised he would be paying more than he was willing to, so cancelled it.
