Hi all,

I installed docky and cairo-dock too to check them out and decide which one to use, I the removed cairo-dock using synaptic, after that I could not login into my computer, each time I login the desktop disappears and I'm logged out instantly, I have to log in in gnome fail-safe mode, and I can not enable visual effect in that mode(I do not know why but may be this is how fail-safe mode works).

After that when I run docky, the background of its task manager is black and looks ugly.

I do not know what the problem is, but may be removing cairo-dock caused removing other libs that is necessary for gnome desktop to work correctly.

How can I fix what happened? can I roll back my machine state to a state before that?

BTW: I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 LTS - the Lucid Lynx on Dell Optiplix 980 64 bit, the gnome version is 2.30.2

please help.

Thanks
