Planning to upgrade my Ubuntu headless server to Lucid. It is running Jaunty right now with /home on its own disk.

Should I wipe out root partition instead of direct upgrade? I want too keep my NFS server and Virtual Box.

I do appreciate the advice.

Thanks

Maybe this (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/EOLUpgrades/Jaunty) will help you. After upgrade to Karmic you can upgrade to LUcid ,because Lucid is LTS release.

Do you think that Virtual Box and NFS will break?

OK,

So... question... when using Clonezilla and choosing the 2nd internal hard disk as image's target... will that overwrite the whole disk or just dump the img content on the selected partition?

I've used Ghost but never Clonezilla. My /home partition on the 2nd disk has a lot space but very important documents that I can't afford to lose or overwrite.
