Broken icons in notification area

Hi,

Almost every time when I boot Ubuntu 10.10 on my netbook the icons in the notification area show up "broken" (see the image attached). Sometimes it's the wifi icon, others the battery icon, others both.

Any idea why this happens? I don't see this on my desktop, although it's the same ubuntu version (desktop edition 32bit) installed on the netbook and the desktop.
