Hi. I am planning on install 10.10 on my Laptop (N5010). but i am a total n00b. so what i want to know is:
1. which Filesystem should i use? i want to use both Win7 and Ubuntu on the same machine.
2. If i am not to use NTFS for installation, then how much HD space should be given to ubuntu's partition
3. Do the Dell Inspiron's Drivers on the support site work on Ubuntu? (I cannot find Linux specific Drivers on the site)
4. how many partitions do i make. and how are partitions made?

Thank You

I would make a live cd and test it on your computer to see if it works with your hardware , you don't need to install it to run from the cd . See the link , it will give you an idea of what is involved in a dual boot .
