Hello.

I've recently had a new Video Card installed in my Ubuntu machine.
(the old card failed)...

SYSTEM >> ADMIN >> HARDWARE DRIVERS - says my video card is active / running.

- The Installation guy - Didn't install the drivers (the CD was for a WINDOWS machine)

1) The driver may be installed & running - However - How do I know / test that it is the *RIGHT* driver for the new video card installed ?

2) How do i tell / find out the brand name of the physical card ?

(the CD disk says SAPPHIRE / ATI Radeon )

:- New card has been active for a week or so..

:- Last night, the Ubuntu screen logged me off - & then a few minutes later - went black.

(I am using SYNERGY, with another PC - I wasn't using the Ubuntu machine at the time)

- Could this be caused with some kind of conflict with driver ?

& how do I "log" this conflict - for later.. (reason why PC shut down) *NOTE* - PC was still on - just not usable - till i rebooted...
