SSH constantly stalling

I recently upgraded my Ubuntu from 9.10 to 10.4. When I connect through SSH, for some reason it frequently stalls for about 5 seconds. The stalls happen roughly every couple minutes.

It's really annoying, does anyone have any good suggestions?

Was there ever a resolution to this problem? I'm experiencing the exact same symptoms. It's quite annoying to say the least.

Are you sure it has to do with ssh and not simply your internet connection ? Unfortunately I don't know any way to test the stability of an internet connection. Maybe simply let 'ping' run for a while and study the output ?
