My new favorite browser. I love it. It keeps uses whatever gnome theme I'm using, it has all the extension I need for general web browsing and some cool buttons you'd think other browsers would have: zoom in and out, fullscreen, bookmark, and my favorite 'related links'! I also added a Save and a Subscribe bookmarklet (for My Web and Bloglines) and it rocks! I love it. I'll still use firefox for web development because of the webdeveloper, dom inspector, and firebug extensions, but epiphany in dapper is my default new browser. Everything now looks consistent and nice, and it's fast too. :D

I was tempted to switch to Epiphany but there's no way I can go back to not using NoScript. It's such an obvious thing they should have included, too.

Well I just stay away from porn sites, so it's not an issue for me. ;)

so far i only have two problem with dapper:
default font size too small
addblock blocks some of my university online course material

either than that... epiphany rocks.

Does Epiphany still have such retarded tab handling?

I think the tabs in Epiphany are easier to use because the close button is on the tab, not in the right of the page. However there is no option like firefox's "Hide the tab bar when only one web site is open" which I found very useful (i'm talking about Epiphany 1.8.2 from Breezy. Hope it gets better in Dapper, I didn't test it yet. Firefox 1.0.7 is just great, the only bad thing is that is very slow for me, the windows open in much time and gives me a feeling of slowness. I didn't like version 1.5... the Preferences dialog is such nice in 1.0.7, but in 1.5 I think it sucks.

Heh. Very funny. :p

The thing that convinced me that NoScript is vital to the health of your web sanity was all the news sites I suddenly began seeing with word highlighting and those damn javascript pop-up windows (which can only be closed after you click on some small javascript x in the corner somewhere). Very annoying.

With Epiphany, I have to leave javascript turned off all the time, and that reduces the functionality of other things (like this forum, for example).

Welcome to the dark side..

Epiphany does indeed rock hard.

If the adblocker nukes important stuff edit:
/usr/share/epiphany-extensions/adblock-patterns
to tweak it.

I don't really like it, but I use it because my machine is very old and it's the fastest full-feature browser I could find.

The tab bar is hidden in Epiphany if you only have one tab open.

Oh, one thing Epiphany needs: form spell checking! That's all I miss from firefox.

Another thing I dislike about Epiphany is that it is rather difficult to move Quick Topics around in your custom toolbar.

Ah, yeah! Been using it since the warty days.
Light'n'fast and with good intergration with Gnome and tabs is the only thing I need of my webbrowser.

Yes I forgot to mention that I like that option disabled. When I have two tabs for example and close one of them, the other disappears and the web page goes up a little, I don't like this. It's not a big deal though, just one of the features I like in Firefox.

I use Epiphany too - it's good on a low-memory machine. It also has some features I like, for instance Crash Recovery, reordering tabs (like Firefox 1.5) and prompting before closing a tab which has partially-filled form elements.

I'm trying epiphany out on edgy for my first time, and right off the bat I noticed that I just can't live without spell check, and I hate the fact that links open in new windows, or replace the current tab instead of opening a new tab next to the one I have open. I'm so used to tabs mix plus in FF with no new windows set, and everything opening to a new tab. Maybe there is a way to change the settings of the tabs.

I also like how in Firefox when you close the last tab, Firefox stays open with a blank page instead of turning completely off.

Also, why is there no "spaces" to add in the customization of the toolbars, only dividers. I don't need a big address bar all the way across the page. And rounded corners would be nice option.

I do prefer the fact that the Epiphany Browser uses my gtkrc to match the rest of my OS. I also like the fact that it is very fast, and the fact that it is gnome. It seems as fast as Opera, yet Opera seems so much easier to use, and Firefox seems so much easier to use then the both of them. It might be slower, but with the extensions like better search, measure this, color picker, down them all, gmail manager/skins....it just is easier.

I think if Epiphany added a spell checker like in Opera 9.10 or at least Firefox 2.0.0.1, and then added some variations of the most useful extensions in Firefox, it would be the best of them all.

And then there are certain extensions like Firefox's Enhanced Weather Forecasting, or Media Player Plug-in that I really miss (mplayer mozplugger is cool, but I prefer xine-ui).
