Hey guys, I'm new to ubuntu but not completely clueless. I enabled mutter to see what it was like when I had 10.4, then upgraded to 10.10. Now, I hate it, think it's boring, and would like to switch over to the eye candy of compiz-fusion. I have an older Toshiba Satellite, 10.10, and currently, when i try to start compiz again (via the terminal) with the command:

compiz --restart or compiz --enable

my computer reloads really quickly and all the sudden just my windows are left, no taskbars, no anything and I have to reboot. Please help?

Sorry if this is a bit hectic, like i said I'm a bit newer to this sort of thing.

Edit: I've tried following other threads about this, and it doesn't seem to be the same situation, when I log out I don't have the "sessions" option to switch over to compiz again.

nevermind. It was as simple as uninstalling it. Then when I rebooted it started it compiz.
