Sorry for triplicating the thread, forum application to blame, not me.
Error:
(initramfs) mount: mounting /dev/loop0 on //filesystem.squashfs failed: input/output error.
Can not mount /dev/loop0 (cdrom/casperfilesystem.squashfs) on //filesystem.squashfs

Like many I've got this error, and anything I do just doesn't help.
Tried DVD,CD,USB installation media. Rescatux GRUB update solution is not the case since it's not an OS update and I've got no GRUB installed yet, and my BIOS does not allow to set primary/secondary/etc. IDE mode for the DVD device.
Is there any other suggestion towards solving the issue?
