View Full Version : [ubuntu] WPA-Personal, TKIP not sure what to do?

January 19th, 2011, 04:12 AM
Hi I am running Ubuntu 10.04 on my slave drive which also has windows xp installed (main drive has windows 7). Here is my wireless network info:

Security Mode: WPA-Personal

Encryption Method: TKIP

Encryption Key:*************

So I went into network connections and went to the wireless tab.

clicked on the Auto (my wireless name) and choose edit.

The SSID is the default wireless name which is correct.

Mode is set to infrastructure.

MTU is set to automatic.

Wireless Security

I set the security to WPA and WPA2 Personal. And input the Encryption Key.

IPv4 settings are set to Automatic (DHCP)

IPv6 setters are set to Automatic

Thats as far as I have got and am unsure of what to do next. As you can tell I am new to Ubuntu and Linux. Any help would be great, thanks!
