Prices are getting down to where it might be worth while for a potential speed up of the boot/system drive.

I'd plan on just moving my system to the new drive using rsync (clone as I normally do) and reinstalling grub2 to boot the new SSD.

Anyone have any success (or issues, failures) using a Solid State Drive with Ubuntu 10.04?

The drive I have in mind is on sale at Fry's, a 120GB Corsair Force drive.

I'd particularly like opinions as to if the speed up was worth the cost and effort.

I got one almost a year ago and have been very pleased. I use LVM so I was able to move my root fs over to the new drive on the fly while I continued to use the system.
