I just installed Ubuntu 10.10 on a vostro 1000 laptop using standard configuration.
I repartitioned the whole disk for Ubuntu. Now, when starting up Ubuntu, it appears to log in fine, but right near the end of the theme and before the desktop loads, it hangs, repeating a slice of the intro music over and over again. What could be causing this problem?
Note: On every ubuntu disk I use, it also says that modules/..../Kernel something is missing from the disk quickly before booting the live session.
