This pop up when i try to download varies of things from Ubuntu Software Center

"Requires installation of untrusted packages
The action would require the installation of packages from not authenticated sources."

And then i am not able to download, what can I do to solve it ?

Could you post an example of such a package? I suggest you to try to find such a package in synaptic package manager.

you can also try commandline:
sudo apt-get install packagename

if not trusted source, it will ask you, then you hit "y"
always has worked for me!

Mendeley, a reference manager produces the same error when going through the GUI update manager. That happens although I allowed "untrusted sources" in the source tab.

The command line worked beautifully. Thanks much!

Install Synaptic via the stupid Software Centre and use that to install untrusted packages.
Software Centre is a massive step in the wrong direction by Ubuntu.

And with that we close. Please don't bump old threads.
