I used Synaptic Package Manager to install Vim-Gnome.
After installation, I try to look for it in various menus: Applications, System, Places.
I could not find it.

How do you run the installed Vim Gnome?
Where do you look to see if it is installed?

THanks

Start by trying
which vim at the command-line; this should tell you where to find it. Once you know where it's hiding, you should be able to use System > Preferences > Main menu to add it to Applications > Programming (for example).

Always "should", because while these steps work for me I'm not a confident enough user to guarantee they'll work for you ;-}

Thanks.
but then I ran it from Applications, it does not show up on screen
I have to open a terminal first and then run it from there.
I thought vim.gnome is desktop graphical version of vim?
It may be I have to create a scrip first?
Any advice?

I think you can run the graphical version by typing "gvim" in the console.

Like the previous poster said, but not only in the console. Try to search for gvim in Applications.
